Jr. SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Jr. System Administrator to manage and maintain our AWS-based IT infrastructure. In this role, you will ensure the stability, security, and performance of our cloud architecture while collaborating with the team to optimize cost, scalability, and efficiency. You will also provide support to end-users and contribute to improving our overall system operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform regular updates and patch management for cloud services and systems.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and team members, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.

  • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to plan and implement infrastructure upgrades and enhancements.

  • Manage the inventory, installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT hardware, including computers, peripherals, and related equipment.

  • Monitor system performance and infrastructure costs, ensuring optimal operation and cost efficiency.

  • Manage and maintain AWS-based services such as EC2, ECS, RDS, IAM, S3, SES, and other critical components of our cloud architecture.

  • Develop, implement, and enforce IT policies and procedures to enhance security, operational efficiency, and compliance across the organization.

  • Implement and manage security protocols, including IAM roles, VPC configurations, and security groups, to safeguard data and ensure compliance with industry standards.

  • Deploy updated software versions, provision infrastructure, and manage tenant instances.

  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and execute regular backup procedures.

  • Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps for operational continuity.

  • Proactively research and recommend new tools, services, or practices to improve infrastructure reliability and scalability.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in system administration, preferably with AWS-based infrastructure.

  • Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and fundamental networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs, etc.).

  • Ability to construct SQL queries and manage relational databases.

  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automating tasks and creating tools.

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, RDS, S3, SES, CloudWatch, and IAM is a plus.

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, AWS CodeStar) is a plus.

  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch or other similar tools.

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or other similar tools is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of Java is a plus.
