What's New in Edusuite: The Redesigned Guardian Portal

Report card season. Enrollment week. The three days after a payment deadline. These are the stretches when the registrar's office stops doing its own work and starts answering the same four questions for everyone else.
Is my child enrolled? What is the outstanding balance? When is the next payment due? Where can I see the grades?
None of them are difficult questions. They are simply questions a guardian could not answer without asking someone. The redesigned guardian portal is now live for schools running Edusuite K12 , and most of what changed is about moving those four answers to where families already are.
What guardians see first now

The old interface opened on a sidebar. The guardian portal now opens on a homepage, and for a family with more than one child enrolled, that single change does most of the work.
Three widgets sit on it. Announcements carries whatever the school has posted, from important dates for the school year to enrollment primers and clearance reminders. Enrollment status lists every child on the account with their grade level, school year, current status, and a link straight into whichever step they have stopped at. Student balance shows each child's overdue amount, next due date and amount due, with a link through to the full assessment.
A guardian with three children used to check three times. Now it is one screen, and a student selector at the top switches context for everything else.
Grades and attendance, without the email
The Student tab holds basic information and grades, filtered by school year and grade level.
Grades come through per subject and per grading period, alongside behavioural marks for conduct and effort, the non-academic record of days absent and times tardy, and club grades where the school runs them. Teachers post, and guardians can see it without waiting for the printed card.
This is the section that quietly removes the most work. Every grading period generates a predictable wave of requests for a copy of something the guardian could already open, and most of those requests exist only because nobody told the family where to look.
Payment visibility and statements

The Payments tab splits into assessment and other fees.
Assessment opens on a balance summary covering total assessments, payments, refunds, pending payments, overpayment and the remaining balance, then lists pending payments and the full payment history. Each historical payment opens to show the mode of payment, OR number, value date, reference and who processed it.
Enrollment inside the guardian portal is now a guided six-step flow, ending on a confirmation with a clear payment timeline. The school's enrollment policy, including withdrawal and refund terms, is read inside the process rather than in an attachment a family will later say they never received.
“Can you confirm you received our payment last Tuesday” takes your cashier several minutes to answer. It takes a guardian about ten seconds.
What this lets your office stop doing

Grouped by who feels it.
•   Registrar's office. Fewer enrollment status queries during the peak fortnight, fewer grade copy requests after each grading period, and enrollment policy read in the flow rather than chased afterwards.
•   Finance. Balance and due date questions answered at source, and payment confirmations that no longer need someone to open a record and read it back.
None of this reduces the number of questions guardians have. It reduces how many of them have to land on your team first.
Rolling out to your school
Nothing needs migrating. Student records, payment history and enrollment data carry over automatically, and guardians sign in with the accounts they already have.
All guardian portal logins now redirect to the new interface. There is a path in both directions during the changeover: families still on the old layout see a Switch to new UI prompt, and the new homepage carries a link back to the previous one along with a short survey.
We are rolling this out across our partner schools  through the term. We would rather guardians moved when they were ready than have an interface change land in the middle of someone's enrollment payment, so if your school would like to time the announcement around your own calendar, our CX team can help you plan it.
Setup instructions are going into the user manual, and the webinar recording covers the feature demos.
The office did not get any bigger this term. It simply stopped being the only place the answers lived.
